Stracta Hotel in Hella was founded by father and son, Hreiðar Hermannsson and Hermann Hreiðarsson who are the pioneers and driving force behind the hotels. The concept is based on the premise that hotel accommodation is currently scarce in some key locations in Iceland, thereby limiting options for potential visitors to see what Iceland has to offer. It is one of the main aims of Stracta Hotels, to provide diverse accommodation options for visitors to Iceland and hence enhance the visitors’ experience.

he owners of Stracta hotel have been in the tourist business for decades and a hotel in south Iceland has been in their minds for several years.  After a careful study and assessment of the tourist market the aim was set on Hella. The general purpose with the location was to meet demand from the market for a hotel close to all major tourist attractions in south Iceland. By staying in Stracta Hotel guest can save substantial amounts driving to Reykjavík after having visited some pearls in he Icelandic nature.

The fact that from Stracta Hotel is one of the best views in Iceland did play a major role in the decision to locate the hotel in Hella. From the hotel our guests can enjoy view from the Vestman Island in the south to the mountains in Reykjanes peninsula in the west.
